Hello and welcome to my City Council website. I am delighted that you've chosen to visit my site and hope you will find the information provided informative and useful.
I decided to run for City Council because I felt like the City isn't listening to the voice of the residents. Two years ago the Council surveyed Morgan Hill residents as to where the new library should be located. Despite a response to the contrary, the Council was moving ahead with plans to put the library downtown. I worked with a number of like minded individuals, and rallied members of the community to let their voices be heard. We got over 1000 signatures on a petition, and encouraged those who felt the library should stay at the Civic Center location to contact Council Members via email and phone. We were able to convince the Council to keep the Library at the same location it currently is. I decided then that someday I would run for City Council in order for residents to have that voice.
I am coming up on one year in office and am enjoying it immensely. Currently, I am chair of the Council's Finance Committee, and am a member of the Community and Economic Development Committee. I also am the City Council's representative for the VTA Policy Advisory Committee, the Chamber of Commerce's Economic Development Committee, and Sister City Committee.
I would encourage you to email me at marby@marbylee.com with any questions that you may have about what's going on in Morgan Hill. I want to be available to the residents if they have concerns or problems - I feel that is my job as a City Council Member.
Thanks for visiting, and I appreciate your continuing support!
Regards,
Marby Lee
